In honor of the 125th anniversary of American Rifleman, the following is an excerpt from the January, 1971 issue: Identifying Mauser Markings.

Só I lately traded one óf my Mosin Nágants for a Czéch Vz24 Mauser in 8mm. The rifle will be in great form but while trying to identify the consumer I've strike a wall structure. I don't understand if there are usually any Czech rifle experts on here but it's worth a photo.
The recipient is scrubbed of the crest as well as the original serial number (I believe) but offers long been re-stamped with a various number. It still offers the 'Zbrojovka Brno, A.T. VZ.24.' markings on the receiver side wall. The bolts serial TR2837 leads me to believe at minimum the bolt had been from a Romanian contract rifle. The receiver serial is difficult to examine precisely what it will be and the numbers appear like ones you would see on European Nagants.
Is definitely it possible that this is definitely a Romanian contract rifle that had been taken and re-numbéred by the Russiáns?
Whát I see for the serial is usually FS16 17- but I'meters not really 100% sure.
Sórry for the potato images. It had been the finest I could perform in my bad lighting rental.
